Aside from the weight loss tips for obese kids I’ve mentioned few weeks ago, I’ve stumbled upon a new technology that your kids may agree more on doing for the sake of weight management - Exergaming.
XRkade, a high-tech gym in Arizona, is said to be one of the top health movements pushed nationwide to encourage physical fitness amongst teens and tweens.
It provides facilities for kids to have fun while doing some physical activities.

Depression is a serious but often underestimated disease that has been persistently affecting people all over the world. According to a September 2007 article detailing the survey conducted by World Health Organization, depression produces far worse figures compared to chronic diseases like diabetes, asthma, and arthritis. The numbers have led professionals such as Dr. Nickolai Titov and Professor Gavin Andrews of Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression for Sydney’s St. Vincent’s Hospital to suggest that treatment for depression should be prioritized the way treatments for other chronic illnesses are.
Nowadays, there are numerous treatments available for depression but among them, several are more well-known than others like Paxil. According to reports, Paxil has weight changes as one of its side effects, and it is something that many people are expressing concern of.

Often hailed as a life-sized Barbie, Jessica Simpson is greatly admired for her blond locks, baby blue eyes, smooth golden skin, and curvy figure.
Although the whole world already knows that ProActiv is her facial beauty secret, not everyone is in the know about her diet and workout tips.

It’s been just weeks since I found out about Italians getting bribed to lose weight. And just today, more scientific studies and programs are being conducted to see how money can affect the drive of people to lose weight.
One is a study on providing financial incentives for employees to lose weight:
“Lots of companies are experimenting with rewarding people for weight loss, and this study provides evidence that paying people to lose weight works,” says Eric Finkelstein, a health economist with RTI International, a non-profit research organization in Research Triangle Park, N.C.

There was the diet plate. Now what do we have next? The diet fork.
The claims of this new diet tool include:
* Shorter and dulled teeth inhibiting user from grasping larger pieces of food at any one time
* Smaller triangular shaped surface area allowing dieter to hold less food than many other forks
* Uncomfortable grip compelling user to put fork down between bites, slowing the user’s eating speed
The features of this utensil sound ridiculous to me. I might as well use chopsticks, since I’m not so good at using them making me drop more food than eat enough. But like many “wonder” tools, I won’t wonder if there are going to be numerous weight-conscious folks who’d go gaga over it.
It’s available in a 10 pack for $8.95.

Katherine Heigl, known as Grey’s Anatomy’s Dr. Izzy Stevens, has the model’s body that fits her character perfectly. In real life, Heigl is tall, with broad shoulders and large bones. If you have a large body structure, and if you want to have the same curves as Heigl, then you have to quit your vices, whether they are smoking cigarettes or eating junk food. Such a diet is a challenge to stay away from on the set of Grey’s Anatomy, where the cast has a buffet of fried, easy-to-eat foods, or take-out fast food that stock high on grease and fat.

During my teen years, I tried controlling my obesity using the very popular method, at least to us teenagers back then, known as liquid therapy. It’s a diet merely composed lots and lots of water and some fruits. No not the liquid diet therapy for Crohn’s disease patients.
I know that it’s actually for people who has recently undergone surgery but my reliance on my research ability and my understanding of the human body - I have a BS Biology degree, made me resort to this drastic dieting technique allowing myself to be my own guinea pig.
How did I fare with this water diet?
